With 21 years of experience as a working medium, Raye shares the gift of mediumship combined with spirit portraiture, which she is renowned for.

Psychic Art is one of the lesser used spiritual gifts, however, possibly one of the most fascinating and unique!   Drawing a loved one in spirit is a privilege – reassuring people that their loved ones live on.

 Raye works with her clairvoyance (seeing) clairaudience (hearing) and clairsentience (feeling) when drawing her people in spirit.  Once a link has been established the art flows and Raye says she can only describe it as a form of light trance.   As the drawing starts taking shape, Raye will get clairaudience and the person she is drawing gives her information, normally names.  When picture is practically finished, clairsentience comes in – sensing how they passed to spirit.   When the picture is complete, more information comes through, using all three senses.

Raye lives in Essex and demonstrates all over the country, serving churches / centres / theatres. She also works abroad.

Raye uses an easel when demonstrating her spiritual art.  The audience find it fascinating watching the portrait come to life.  The portrait takes approx 5-8 minutes to complete. Raye sometimes works on her own on platform but mostly with another medium, which works very well. 

Raye said, “After my demonstrations, I often look at the pictures I’ve drawn and wonder ‘how did it happen?’. It is so gratifying when a drawing is taken and a voice calls out: ‘Oh that’s my dad’ – wonderful!

Psychic Artists do get a hard time though; eyebrows not quite right;  parting on the wrong side; not sure if it is my uncle, he had a few more lines on his forehead!!  – these are actual words spoken from people in the congregation.

When a spiritual medium is demonstrating on platform, they 'normally' describe the person in spirit; how tall, size, colour of hair or no hair etc. But drawing a person in Spirit needs to be detailed to be recognised. It is very satisfying when a person accepts a drawing and the information given with it, especially when they produce a photo showing just how accurate it is.

Psychic Artists are like portrait artists, they have their own style of working.  They work through the influence of their Spirit Art Guide.

It is of course easier if the psychic artist is a natural artist, especially if they get clairvoyance, they can then draw who they see!  Or if they work with another medium, they can draw who the medium is describing.

I am not myself, a natural artist. Well I wasn't when I first started and never had any formal training. I am proud to say I have had my tuition from my Spirit Guide, who I call Vinnie"

 If inspired, Raye ‘sometimes’ will do a drawing of a person hours before she leaves for her demonstration, with information - as with her animals.  When accepted, what wonderful proof for the recipient.

With all psychic artists, on occasions unidentified drawings are taken (because of accepted information given) and are told that they will find out who it is - eventually.  It has been known for this to happen, even years later.
